Abstract
Objective: To explore the application and influence of nursing follow-up routines on self-efficacy and quality of life (QOL) in patients with permanent pacemaker implanted surgery. Methods: A total of 120 patients with permanent pacemaker implanted surgery in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 60 cases for each group. Control group received traditional nursing follow-up routines while observation group with nursing follow-up routines, 9 months for each group. Follow-up rate, self-efficacy scores, QOL and complications during follow up at discharge and 1, 3, 6 and 9 months after discharge were observed in both groups. Results: Observation group was notably higher than control group in self-efficacy scores 6 and 9 months
after discharge (P<0.05), and in QOL 3, 6 and 9 months after discharge (P<0.05). However, observation group was apparently lower than control group in rates of pain, infectious endocarditis and incision infection, and there was significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: Nursing follow-up routines can effectively improve the postoperative self-efficacy and QOL and reduce the rates of pain and infection in patients underwent permanent pacemaker implanted surgery.
