Abstract
Purpose: To study the correlation between c-Myc, Sirtuin type 1 (SIRT1), acetyl-p53 protein and the prognosis of breast carcinoma. Methods: c-Myc, SIRT1 and acetyl-p53 protein of breast carcinoma and breast adenosis were detected by immunohistochemical staining. And combined with follow-up data, statistical analysis was performed to study the prognosis. Results: C-Myc positive breast carcinoma patients, 5-year disease-free survival rate and 5-year overall survival rate (59.0%/59.0%, respectively) is lower than c-Myc negative ones, (86.2%/86.2%, respectively). And SIRT1 positive breast cancer patients, 5-year disease-free suvival rate and 5-year overall survival rate (56.1%/56.1%, respectively) is lower than SIRT1 negative ones, (87.9%/87.9%, respectively). However, Acetyl-p53 positive breast carcinoma patients, 5-year disease-free survival rate and 5-year overall survival rate (86.7%/86.7%, respectively) is higher than the acetyl-p53 negative ones, (58.3%/66.7% respectively). All the difference had statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion: Those breast carcinoma patients with c-Myc and SIRT1 protein high expression had a poor prognosis. However, those breast patients with high acetyl-p53 protein expression had a good prognosis.
