Abstract
Objective: To investigate the expression characteristics of microRNA (miR)-92a, miR-217, and miR-22-3p in patients with lung adenocarcinoma and their correlation with pathological features. Methods: Clinical data of 100 patients with lung adenocarcinoma in Yixing People’s Hospital from April 2018 to April 2022 were selected as the subjects for a retrospective study. Tumor lesions and normal adjacent tissues (at least 5 cm away from the tumor lesions) were collected from patients in this group during surgical treatment. After corresponding treatment, the relative expression levels of miR-92a, miR-217, and miR-22-3p in tissues were calculated by 2−ΔΔCt method. The relative expression levels of miR-92a, miR-217, and miR-22-3p in adenocarcinoma tissues and paracancer tissues, as well as the relative expression levels of above indicators in lung adenocarcinoma patients with different pathological characteristics (disease stage, lymph node metastasis, and degree of differentiation) were analyzed. The correlation between the relative expression levels of miR-92a, miR-217, and miR-22-3p with the pathological features of lung adenocarcinoma was statistically analyzed. Results: The relative expression level of miR-92A in lung adenocarcinoma tissues was higher than that in paracancer tissues, and the relative expression level of miR-217 and miR-22-3p was lower than that in paracancer tissues, with statistical significance (all P<0.05). Comparison of the relative expression levels of miR-92a, miR-217, and miR-22-3p in lung adenocarcinoma patients with different disease stages, lymph node metastasis and differentiation degree showed statistical significance (all P<0.05), and with the increase of disease stage, lymph node metastasis, and differentiation degree decreased. The relative expression levels of miR-92a were continuously increased, and those of miR-217 and miR-22-3p were continuously decreased, with statistical significance (all P<0.05). Pearson test showed that miR-92a was significantly positively correlated with lung adenocarcinoma disease stage and lymph node metastasis, and significantly negatively correlated with differentiation degree (P<0.05). miR-217 and miR-22-3p were significantly negatively correlated with lung adenocarcinoma disease stage and lymph node metastasis, and significantly positively correlated with the degree of differentiation (P<0.05). Conclusion: The expression of miR-92a is increased in lung adenocarcinoma tissues, while the expression of miR-217 and miR-22-3p is significantly decreased in lung adenocarcinoma tissues. The increase or decrease of the relative expression level is closely correlated with the stage of lung adenocarcinoma disease, lymph node metastasis and differentiation degree. The relationship between the two can be further studied to determine whether it can be used as a new target for disease treatment and provide new ideas for disease diagnosis and treatment.
