Abstract
Objective: To compare the effects of traditional oral health education and mind mapping combined with multimedia health education on the incidence of complications, Harris score, Barthel index score and medical service satisfaction after hip replacement, and to investigate the effect of mind mapping combined with multimedia health education mode on postoperative rehabilitation of total Hip arthroplasty (THA) patients. Methods: Patients who were admitted to the Department of Orthopedics of Ma’anshan People’s Hospital and underwent THA for the first time from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group. The patients in the control group were given routine oral health education, while the observation group patients were given a self-designed mind map combined with multimedia technology for health education. The propaganda and education include knowledge and education, rehabilitation exercise, and the prevention of complications. The Harris score, Barthel index score, postoperative complication rate and patient satisfaction in the 2 groups at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after surgery were analyzed and objectively evaluated. Results: Compared with the control group, the Harris score and Barthel index score of observation group were increased after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). And the longer the time of health education intervention with mind mapping combined with multimedia technology, the more significant the difference between the 2 groups. The total incidence of postoperative complications in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group (P=0.006). The satisfaction of postoperative medical care in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (P=0.003). Conclusion: Using mind mapping combined with multimedia technology to conduct health education and guidance for patients after artificial THA can effectively improve the postoperative rehabilitation effect of patients, improve the postoperative satisfaction of patients and improve the nurse-patient relationship, which is worthy of clinical application.
