Abstract
Objective: To explore the status and influencing factors of stigma in patients with Crohn’s disease. Methods: A total of 151 Crohn’s disease patients were investigated with the general information questionnaire, Social Impact Scale and the Self-Esteem Scale. Results: The total score on stigma in patients with Crohn’s disease was 61.68±13.59, and the score of items was 2.57±0.57. The multivariate regression analysis results showed that self-esteem level, family income, age, occupation and whether or not to have a stoma were the influencing factors of stigma of Crohn’s disease, which could explain 32.4% of the total variation. Conclusion: The stigma of patients with Crohn’s disease is at a moderate level, and clinical care should pay attention to the patient’s self-esteem, family income, age, occupation, and whether or not to have a stoma to reduce the degree of stigma in patients with Crohn’s disease.
