广州医科大学临床医学本科全英班教学质量与成效的调查分析

摘要

目的:临床医学本科全英班(又名:南山班)是我校精英教育的品牌和试验田,本文旨在通过学生问卷调研及成绩比较的方式回顾全英班教学质量与成效,并探讨存在的问题及对策。方法:针对英语教学质量、实际意义、改进建议等方面对2012~2013级学生进行问卷调查,并比较2010~2013级全英班学生与其他中文授课的临床本科班学生的成绩。结果:问卷调查结果显示大部分全英班学生满意目前的英语授课质量,并认为对其国际交流相关活动产生积极影响,但教师的英语熟练程度以及授课计划完成情况尚有改善空间。成绩分析显示全英班学生成绩呈逐年上升趋势(R2=0.68,P=0.182),且从2012级开始明显优于其他临床专业学生。结论:广州医科大学的临床医学全英教学取得了阶段性的成效,期待进一步的完善和发展。

Quality and effectiveness of full-English teaching in undergraduate clinical medicine education of Guangzhou Medical University

Abstract

Objective: Clinical medicine undergraduate full-English class (also known as: Nanshan class) is a brand and testing field of elite education in our school. This study aims at studying the teaching quality and effectiveness of full-English class through the questionnaire survey among students and the comparison of the results with other classes, and exploring the existing problems and countermeasures. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 2012~2013 grade students. The scores of the examination were compared between the Grade 2010~2013 full-English class students and other Chinese-class students. Results: The questionnaire results show most of the full-English class students were satisfied with the current English teaching quality, and that have a positive impact on the international communication activities. However, there is still room for improvement of English language proficiency of teachers and teaching plan completion. Performance analysis shows the mean scores of full-English class students increased year by year (R2=0.68, P=0.182), and were superior to other clinical students since 2012. Conclusion: The goal of the full-English teaching in Guangzhou Medical University has been partially achieved, and it is expected to be further improved and developed.
