Abstract
In recent years, many studies have favored atopic dermatitis (AD) as a systemic disease that is not only associated with other atopic diseases, but also associated with many non-atopic diseases. In clinical practice, more and more medical workers find that some AD patients are often associated with autoimmune diseases, and autoimmune diseases aggravate the disease burden of AD patients. It is essential to study the correlation between the two and its mechanism. It has been found that there is a close relationship between the two and the mechanism is complex. AD will increase the risk of autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune diseases are also risk factors of AD, especially autoimmune diseases involving the skin and intestinal mucosa; however, there are contradictory views on the correlation between AD and autoimmune thyroid diseases and rheumatic autoimmune diseases. Exploring the correlation and possible mechanism between the two is helpful to improve the understanding of AD comorbidity, screen AD subtypes with autoimmune diseases and perform early intervention, which is important to improve the quality of life of patients and reduce the burden of life.
