Abstract

Tumor-associated trypsin inhibitor (TATI), also known as the pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor (PSTI) or serine protease inhibitor Kazal type 1 (SPINK1), encodes a 56 amino acid secreted peptide. In addition to being a protease inhibitor, it may also act as an autocrine growth factor or an antagonism of apoptosis, and so on. In tumor, TATI acts as a biomarker. In this review, we will summarize the current understanding of TATI and its role in tumors.
