Comparison of TaqMan PCR method and Carbon-14-Urea breath test in the diagnosis of Helicobacter pylorus
Objective: To investigate and compare TaqMan PCR method and Carbon-14-Urea breath test on Helicobacter pylori (Hp) detection. Methods: TaqMan PCR method was used in 70 cases of clinical samples, and the results were analyzed. Results: There was no difference in the positive rate of Hp in TaqMan PCR method and Carbon-14-Urea breath test, and there was a good correlation between the two methods, but the positive rate was higher in Carbon-14-Urea breath test. Further study showed that the positive intensity of Hp can be divided into 3 types by TaqMan PCR method, and there was a good correlation between positive intensity and pathological degree of inflammation. Conclusion: TaqMan PCR method can be used as a useful molecular biological method for clinical diagnosis of Hp.
