The study progress on the correlation between PINK1 and glucose metabolism
PINK1 [phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN)-induced putative kinase 1] is a protein kinase associated with Parkinson’s and closely related with mitochondrial function. Studies have shown that PINK1 may be involved in obesity, type 2 diabetes. Recent studies demonstrate that PINK1 is necessary to maintain function of pancreatic beta cells. Some diabetic drugs are also involved in the regulation of PINK1. This article reviewed the study on the correlation between PINK1 and glucose metabolism in recent years.
