Sudden death due to dissection of the thoracic aorta associated with dissection of the pulmonary artery: case report and literature review
Objective: To report the rare case of dissection of the thoracic aorta associated with dissection of the pulmonary artery and discuss the cause of death. Methods: Through review the literature and analyze the anatomy findings and histological characteristics in one case of sudden death due to aortic dissecting aneurysm with the pulmonary artery dissection, the clinical significance and cause were discussed. Results: The male death of 76 years old, sudden death at home after blunt blow. Anatomy findings showed that aorta and pulmonary artery dissection aneurysm formed. Pulmonary artery branch dissecting aneurysm formed at pulmonary artery tree with artery luminal stenosis. Conclusion: Dissection of the thoracic aorta associated with dissection of the pulmonary artery is very rare, dangerous illness, easy cause sudden death.
