Abstract

Objectives: To research the current situation of psychological resilience of enterostomy children patients, and to discuss the influence of family adaptability on their psychological resilience. Methods: General enterostomy children patients’ situation questionnaire, chronic illness children’s resilience scale (CICRS) and family APGAR index (APGAR) were adopted targeting 172 enterostomy children patients hospitalized in a comprehensive hospital. Results: CICRS score of enterostomy children patients was 83.74±12.68; 146 children patients (84.9%) were in the lower and medium level. The family adaptability score was 6.87±1.09; 116 children patients (67.4) had good family function and 56 children patients (32.6%) had moderate impediment family function. As indicated by Pearson correlation analysis results, adaptability, maturity and emotion level were positively correlated to psychological resilience score (P<0.05). As indicated by hierarchical regression analysis results, age, family education environment, the per capita income, colostomy surgery time, adaptability, maturity and emotion level were independent influence factors of psychological resilience (P<0.05), they could explain 19.3% of variance variation amount together. Conclusion: The enterostomy children patients are of lower psychological resilience level. The clinic medical staff should assess the demographic characteristics of the children patients in an all-round way, mobilize the related family emotional support for the children patients, and thereby to reduce their psychological stress reaction in the process of disease treatment and improve their life quality.
