摘要

目的:研究乙醛脱氢酶1(aldehyde dehydrogenase 1,ALDH1)、CD133在鼻咽癌组织中的表达情况,探讨其作为鼻咽癌干细胞标志物的临床病理意义。方法:应用免疫组织化学法检测112例鼻咽癌及20例正常组织中ALDH1和CD133的表达情况。结果:鼻咽癌组织中ALDH1和CD133表达高于正常组织(P<0.05)。ALDH1表达在患者年龄、性别、病理分型、原发癌和转移癌、是否伴有颈部淋巴结转移等各组间差异均无统计学意义(均P>0.05)。CD133表达在鼻咽部原发癌与淋巴结转移癌之间差异有统计学意义(P<0.01),在患者年龄、性别、病理分型以及是否伴有颈部淋巴结转移等各组间差异均无统计学意义(均P>0.05)。结论:ALDH1作为鼻咽癌肿瘤干细胞标志物有待进一步研究。CD133可作为鼻咽癌干细胞较特异的表面标志物,在鼻咽癌转移方面可能起重要作用。

Abstract

Objective: To examine the expression of aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (ALDH1) and CD133 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and to explore their clinical and pathological significance as potential markers for nasopharyngeal cancer stem cell. Methods: The expression of ALDH1 and CD133 in samples of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (n=112) or normal tissues (n=20) was detected by immunohistochemical method. Results: The expression of ALDH1 and CD133 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma was higher than that in the normal tissues (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the ALDH1 expression among various groups of age, sex, pathological type, primary or metastatic tumor, and state of neck lymph node metastasis (all P>0.05). There was significant difference in the expression of CD133 between the primary carcinoma group and the metastatic carcinoma group (P<0.01). No significant differences in the CD133 expression was found among various groups of age, sex, pathological type, and state of neck lymph node metastasis (all P>0.05). Conclusion: The CD133 can be regarded as one of specific markers for nasopharyngeal carcinoma stem cells, which may play an important role in metastasis. It needs further studies to determine the possibility of ALDH1 as a specific marker for nasopharyngeal cancer stem cells.
